Performance from REALationships™ Interactive Team Working and Realtionships Skills Workshop
The aim of the workshop is to increase the performance of any team to enable them to deal with stresses of the modern working environment. Teams are the engine of any organization and if they are not working effectively then the bottom line will be compromised.
BACKGROUND
A lot of teams focus on the hard measures of productivity, goals, objectives and KPI’s and whilst it is really important to have this clearly identified and articulated, a lot of teams fail to look at the softer relationship skills that enable individuals to come together and deliver extraordinary results. We use the 5 Dysfunctions of a team (Lencioni) and the Team Coaching International Team Diagnostic approach in our work. TCI believe that highly effective teams are both highly positive and highly productive. They have identified 14 characteristics that can be measured to understand where teams are and how they can improve to become more effective.
This approach calls upon all of the latest thinking in Emotional intelligence, Positive Psychology, Appreciative enquiry, and Systems thinking.
OBJECTIVES
Team discover how they view themselves as a system, as a starting point for growth.
Team learn new skills and techniques for building deeper and more meaningful relationships.
Team create their own charter for how they want to behave with each other and as a team that will encourage the right behaviours and build an effective business model.
TARGET DELEGATES
This workshop is suitable for any team, where it is recognized that there is more potential, but it is not being realized for some reason. The top team or board may want to spend some time looking at where they could improve their performance and act as role models for the rest of the teams in the business. Or it could be that a new team is coming tighter to run a project and it is recognized that they need to bond quickly and hit the road running to meet tight dead-lines. In fact most teams could benefit from this type of intervention focusing on how they work together to unleash the potential of all of the individuals to gain that amazing synergy of a truly effective team.
FRESHLOOK APPROACH
This is a team coaching approach, so we utilize the teams’ knowledge of how they are as a system with an anonymous on-line questionnaire. We use the results of the questionnaire to focus the skills and capability element of the workshop. We will bring in the appropriate content to move the team to the best place; this could be a more in-depth MBTI analysis or Insights, depending on the needs of the team. We will take time to understand the needs of the team with the project sponsor and then design the appropriate intervention taking into consideration the seniority of the team, the life cycle and the business context.
WORKSHOP DESIGN
The time invested upfront with the project sponsor and Team leader, will enable us to bespoke the workshop to address the needs and wants of all of the team. The on-line questionnaire will then give us hard data about how the system sees itself. We will then design a workshop to address these needs; it could be split up over several months, this can be a very effective method of continually raising the bar for the team.
WORKSHOP SUMMARY
The workshop can be run over two or three days or can have follow-up sessions for the team to review progress and keep challenging themselves for excellence. The on-line questionnaire an also be repeated to see how the team is progressing after 4-6 months.
